Hey, friends! We are already at Month 7!! Today marks the official start of the third trimester, so we have roughly 12 weeks to go! I have a feeling time is going to start flying from here!
The biggest thing that’s happened this month is getting all kinds of good stuff for little bit! In a complete and best surprise ever, our stroller arrived on our doorstep from Uncle Avery and Aunt Shelby (Steven’s brother and his wife)…
It is the Graco FastAction Fold Jogger stroller, and folds up with one pull, which is awesome! It’s also got all kinds of neat little features, like cupholders and a smart phone holder, too, plus it’s got super durable off-road all terrain wheels.
It’s compatible with our infant carseat, the Graco SnugRide 35 LX ClickConnect, which arrived the next week from Gran and Bud (Steven’s parents)!
The infant seat just snaps on to the top of the stroller and unclips easily as well. They look so legit all together!
I ordered us a Pack and Play a few weeks ago, and it arrived as well! It’s just a simple pack and play with a removable diaper changing spot and infant bassinet.
And as far as her room, we now have her dressers…
I bought two of these three drawer dressers to put together to make a six drawer, but I like the flexibility of being able to split them up in the future if we need to.
And one project I worked on while Steven was in Dallas was giving this shelf a little makeover to turn it from our kitchen baker’s rack into a storage shelf for her room. I painted it a light turquoise/ mint color, and covered the shelves with a llama fabric from Hobby Lobby. The mint fabric boxes are from Target and are a perfect fit! I am still on the fence about the little open sided box on the second shelf, and may trade it for another fabric box and use that somewhere else.
As far as our actual munchkin, she is doing well, and moving around like crazy! Her heart rate has still been in the 140s the last few appointments, and we measured fundal height at my last appointment (which is kind of the measurement of the bump itself) for the first time. It’s supposed to be within 3 centimeters of the number of weeks you are gestationally. I measured at 26 cm on week 27, so we are within the normal range. I now start going in every two weeks, so my next appointment will be December 1 and that includes 3rd trimester labs (including testing for gestational diabetes). I’m also meeting with our potential pediatrician that day, and am excited to meet her! Her husband is a pulmonary/critical care fellow that has worked with my husband, and her clinic is close to our house at our local children’s hospital.
The other big thing that’s started lately are contractions. They are Braxton-Hicks and infrequent (a handful of times a day at random times), so they aren’t anything to worry about, but it’s definitely starting to get real!
Here are the stats for the month:
How far along: 28 weeks/ 7 months– 3rd Trimester!
Total weight gain: 10-13 pounds; I’m fluctuating between 135-138 lately.
Maternity clothes: Sometimes, but still not for the most part. The new clothes I’ve gotten lately have been non-maternity that accommodate the bump so that they will still be wearable after this. I mainly go for my maternity t-shirts because my normal t-shirts have gotten too short, but that’s the main maternity item I’m using at this point.
Stretch marks: Not that I’ve noticed, but I haven’t been really looking for them.
Sleep: I’m still able to sleep basically through the night (other than kind of waking up to turn from side to side), but I’m typically awake between 5:30 and 6:30 and need to use the restroom. If it’s a normal work day, I just get up, but if it’s a day that I can sleep in, I go back to bed and struggle to fall back to sleep. And I’m still all about naps. If I get just a quick hour in the afternoon, I can beast through whatever I need to later that night, but if I don’t, I’m fairly useless after about 7:30.
Best moment of this month: Lots of moments, but I’m loving get everything ready for her! Getting everything all settled makes it more real that she’s almost here!
Miss anything: Nothing that I can really think of!
Movement: Yes, movement is more constant throughout the day, and more noticeable/ bigger. I feel more of like sweeping arms and stretching legs as well as kicks and jabs.
Food cravings: Nothing in particular that I can think of, just grabbing different things as they sound good. I’ve kind of come out of my ice cream sandwich phase and haven’t really replaced it with anything. Right now, I’ve been eating gala apples quite a bit, and pizza always sounds good.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still just heartburn!
Have you started to show yet: Yes, I think it’s really obvious now! I was still offered a champagne sample at the grocery store last week, but I think the bump is really noticeable!
Gender: sweet little girl!
Belly button in or out: It’s at about half in/ half out right now, and driving me crazy. It doesn’t matter how many layers I wear, I feel like it’s really noticeable and I’m not a huge fan.
Wedding rings on or off: On and still loose, but I’ve noticed that my fingers are typically a little swelled in the morning, and then go down after a few hours.
Looking forward to: continuing to move forward! We’ve got Christmas, and then our baby shower, and then baby over the next 12ish weeks!
And here is a 27 week pic! We took this last week at Lake Ray Hubbard with our sweet boys! They are excited for their little sister to get here!
