#FaveFiveThings [6.16.17]

Happy June and Happy Summer, friends!! I’m sorry I’ve been MIA from #favefive lately… We’ve been very busy! I started a new job and have been traveling some for training, and we are finishing up intern year! 2 short weeks and Steven will be an upper level! 🙂

Here are a few things I’ve loved over the last several weeks!

KitchenAid Flex Edge Beater

I bake a lot, y’all. A lot. And I’m in love with my KitchenAid mixer. It is one of my true loves. I went to Bed Bath & Beyond a few weeks ago and found that they make a flex edge beater to use with the mixer– THIS THING SCRAPES THE SIDE OF THE BOWL FOR YOU. I mean, I don’t mean to shout, but I love this!!

I made a chocolate cake that night to send with Steven and tried this out. It’s the same size as my regular beater, but that silicone edge just hugs against the sides as it mixes. I think my batter was better mixed than usual, but I could just be in love with this beater 😉

Like I said, I got this at BBB, but it should be available with any KitchenAid retailer. Pay attention– there are two different sizes! I have the 5 quart mixer, and it actually uses the smaller of the two sizes of beaters. It says on the package which they are compatible with, but if you don’t know off the top of your head what size yours is, you may want to double check! And my mixer is Blue Willow if you are in the market for one, but aren’t sure what color you want! It’s a deep navy/royal blue. 🙂

Turbie Twist Hair Towel

Again, in BBB, these were in a large bin near the check out, and I was intrigued. I’m always using up multiple towels for my bod and for my hair to get it all dry. I don’t know about y’all, but wrapping your hair up in a regular towel is heavy, bulky, cumbersome, and sometimes uncomfortable. Plus, you are using up more towels. Who loves extra laundry? Not me.

So, for $10, I decided to try them out. They come in packs of two with different colors, so I got turquoise and yellow. They are kind of funky shaped, but I fit all my hair in it, and then the front end rolls up and tucks into the back. It is compact, and not bulky, so it’s not  uncomfortable to wear. It is a terrycloth/microfiber type thing so it absorbs the water out of your hair well, and helps it to get drier faster.

I think these are well worth the investment, and I love them! Here is a pic of what it looks like on… And a pic of what I looked like after I got ready just so you won’t be quite as scared about seeing me 😉

Method Daily Shower Cleaner Spray

Just in keeping with the bathroom theme I apparently have going on today, I started using Method cleaners a few months ago, and picked up the Daily Shower Spray to try as well. We have glass shower doors, and a squeegee, but that is kind of a pain if we’re all really honest. And it still leaves some water spots.

With this, you spray the doors after you shower– no wiping, so drying, just spray it directly on the watery doors. Somehow, with crazy magic, it gets rid of all the remaining water and doesn’t leave any water spots. I’m telling y’all– CRAZY MAGIC.

Zac Brown Band- Welcome Home

We’re big Zac Brown Band fans, and this new album is really good! I think one of my favorite things about him are their amazing harmonies! All their albums are good, and this is a great new addition!

Personalized Tumblers from That Inspired Chick

I’ve mentioned before that one of my favorite things about blogging is getting connected with other bloggers. One of the blogs I follow is That Inspired Chick. She has her own Etsy shop with customized tumblers and other decor items, and I ordered one for me, and one for my sister-in-law for her birthday. Aren’t these cute??

Mine is the turquoise stainless steel tumbler with straw, and she used a print vinyl for my name. Shelby’s is the multicolored glitter tumbler with turquoise writing. She has tons of cute new tumblers since I ordered these, and now she can do glitter dips in any color– including ombre! Turnaround time is really good and she had everything shipped to me before the promised shipping deadline. If you want (need) a new tumbler, definitely check her out!

We’ve been crazy busy with the regular things, and a few new things that I can’t wait to share with y’all later!

As usual, the pups have been training…

A few weeks ago, Steven got an entire Friday off and it was AWESOME! We went skeet shooting, ate ribs, and went to the movies. We had so much fun!

Bonus favorite: I’ve been picking up fresh flowers at the grocery store each week for our dining room table and last week, they had peonies! Aren’t they gorgeous??

I also snagged an amazing antique secretary desk from Craigslist for a steal of a price and have been refinishing it. It started out as a medium tone wood, but I’ve painted it with a cream chalk paint, and covered the inside and drawer fronts with cream and gold damask wallpaper. My mother-in-law and I found this great upholstered chair at Kirkland’s and I’m so excited to use it! I’m in the office less with my new job and can work from home for some things, so I’m excited to have my own space to work!

Before…

During…

Finished!

I’ll try to stay up to date here over the next few weeks and not dump everything we’ve been up to in one post. Thanks for stopping by, y’all!
