#FaveFiveThings [2.24.17]

Happy Friday, y’all! I hope everyone had a good week, and has a fun weekend planned! We have a busy one coming up!

Anyone else feel like they had a crazy busy week? It felt like every single night we got home, ate, went somewhere for an errand, and then came home and it was time for bed. Monday night, we ended up on a wild hunt for GNC Pets brand anti-fungal shampoo for dogs, and went to two different Petsmarts to find it. We are still trying to help Ruger and his itchiness, and we’ve been trying a few new things as last minute, last ditch efforts to help him before he goes to training camp on Sunday. We were trying to find something that might work, one, to help him, and two, to limit the amount of medication we have to send with him. Tuesday, we went out for milkshakes and a short drive. Wednesday, we went to Academy and bought bikes! I am so excited about this, and will talk more about it next week, hopefully! Thursday, we went to Cracker Barrel for dinner, and then stopped at Tractor Supply for dog food and ended up picking up another specialty shampoo and skin balm to try. We stumbled across this brand in Steven’s latest issue of Gun Dog magazine while we were eating and found it at Tractor Supply- it has some sort of tar and sulfur, so this is definitely our last option.

Bottom line: if you have or have ever known a black lab that has severe itching issues and you know something that worked, PLEASE let me know. We may or may not be totally desperate at this point.

And no, his itching is not one of my faves! 🙂

You know what is one of my faves? (This is just a bonus) Being TOTALLY caught up on ironing Steven’s dress clothes. And all the wives said AMEN.

And here is the rest of the #favefive!

Aaron Watson- Vaquero

This thing has been teased FOREVER and it is finally here! By pre-ordering, we ended up with five songs ahead of the release but we finally have the other eleven and they are so good!!

If you like Texas Country, and are interested in supporting a local, family and Christ-centered artist, check this one out! 16 songs for $7.99… can’t ask for a better deal than that!

Zazzle

This is somewhat of a rabbit trail… When we were in Hawaii, I bought several vintage postcards as a souvenir. I LOVE them, and framed them to hang in our dining room.

The opposite wall of our dining room is our Texas wall because we love Texas, we love living here, and we have a slight Texas superiority obsession.

After I did the Hawaii cards, I looked for Texas postcards to match. I found these on Amazon, but didn’t really love them. They aren’t really the same style as my Hawaii ones, and they are actually notecards. It works, but I don’t really like them.

So, one day, I decided to go on a search for new, better vintage Texas postcards, and found these on Zazzle. Zazzle will basically print anything you might be interested in. You can look through any of the available designs and have them print whatever you’d like.

Because of this, I picked cities/ designs that have meaning for us. I picked Welcome to… Texas, West Texas, Lubbock, Amarillo, Midland, and San Antonio. They are good quality and clear, bright colors. If you are needing some type of postcard or poster (or any of a bunch of other random things) printed, check out Zazzle!

Oak and Blossom- 2 in 1 Leather Monogrammed Bag

Finding the right purse is so hard, y’all. I’ve searched high and low for about six months for one that is the right size, made out of the right material, doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, is good quality, and is versatile. In other words, I’m looking for a unicorn.

And here’s another thing to throw in the mix…

Within the last few months, I started looking for a monogrammed bag. I ordered one from Marleylilley that was okay. They were out of stock on the design I liked, so I ended up choosing another one, knowing I didn’t like it as much. And you know the age old rule- you like it the most you ever will when you buy it. So, I started looking a few weeks ago for a different leather monogrammed bag on Etsy.

I ended up finding this one in a shop called Oak and Blossom. I chose brown leather with a dark brown monogram, but they also have a grey leather. It is really sturdy, large enough to carry all my junk and looks so fancy! It is very reasonably priced for a product that is leather and monogrammed. It also features a smaller leather bag that can function as an extra pocket, or it can be detached and used as a clutch (I did this at a concert the other night). It is basically open at the top, but it does have a neat string tie closure as well. I bought the bag through Etsy, but you can also go to their website for it, and many other cute things!

Wave 2 is out today! Four more songs that are good! JM just loves the teasing, I think. 😉

Mossimo Dillon Laser Cut Women’s Booties

I’ve been looking for a low-profile casual bootie option for a while. I love the pair of brown leather booties I usually wear, but sometimes it feels like I have to roll up my skinnies half way up my legs so they look right. I wanted something that was shorter so I didn’t have that issue with my pants.

These were featured by a fellow blogger (Little Lovelies) in a Facebook group earlier this week because they were on sale, and they are pretty much exactly what I was looking for. The taupe color basically matches everything. The low, short profile makes them pair with jeans and other skinnies well. These are apparently similar to a pair by Jeffrey Campbell that are twice the price (these are VERY reasonably priced for booties. Target had a code for 25% off for President’s Day, so you can wait for them to run another sale and get an even better deal!). All I know is that they are SO comfy, and will transition well from winter into spring with the laser cut outs (you can go with or without socks). They run true to size- I am typically a 6 in boots and flats and the 6 fits perfectly- not too snug, but not big enough to rub blisters!

This is the last week these goobers have had together before we take Ruger and Gump to retriever training this Sunday. We are going to miss them so much, but we know they are going to come home as amazing retrievers!
